Feast of the Divine - Pirenópolis-GO
In this program, we follow the preparations for the Festa do Divino in Pirenópolis, in the interior of Goiás, revealing the relationships that are established and that practically involve the entire urban and rural population of the municipality. We get to know the various agents that make the event happen, such as artisans, religious, knights, masquerades, seamstresses, cooks, members of the brotherhood of the holy and the emperor, in addition to others who dialogue with the party. We also investigate the origins of the party that go back to the Middle Ages and we record the numerous religious and profane rites that make up this celebration, such as the masses, processions, reigns, courts and the popular culture festivities that take place in the period, with emphasis on the oak trees, the masked ones, the congo, the congadas and the procession for the coronation of the emperor.
The party occupies every space in the small town of Pirenópolis, also known for its fully preserved 18th century colonial houses. The city is listed as a National Heritage Site, and retains its bucolic appearance, surrounded by hills and waterfalls. A vivid portrait of the history of Goiás, with a hospitable, happy and festive people, and with an excellent tourist infrastructure that combines natural beauty with good restaurants, bars and inns.
